A cooperative preschool is a unique organization – its very existence is dependent on the time, energy, and enthusiasm the parents are willing to commit.

For this reason, Seal Beach Playgroup requires the following of its parents:
 

• Monthly tuition: Juniors - $165; Seniors = $200
   

• Work in the classroom each month (Junior parents work 1-2 days per month, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Senior parents work 2-3 days per month, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.)
   

• Hold a job within the organization (view job description PDF)
   

• Attend a general parent meeting on the first Wednesday evening of each month, August through May
   

• Pay a one-time $150 security deposit that will be fully refunded if you are in good standing when you leave SBPG
   

• Have a current TB test
   

• Attend one of the four scheduled clean-ups
   

• Contribute their time and financial resources to the fundraising requirement of $450 per family annually (our fundraising committee and scrip chairperson will help with this)
   

• Pay a $50 supply fee

 

Participation in a cooperative preschool demands more from parents than an ordinary preschool setting. The rewards, however, are also greater. Not only will you have the opportunity to observe and support your child as they participate in a new and exciting learning experience, you will also find an emotionally supportive parenting environment for yourself.
